How to maintain your extensions

With the right maintenance on your new long locks they can last from 4-6 months. Natural hair has oils coming from the scalp keeping it healthy and soft. Hair extensions do not have this, so you must moisturise as often as possible for longer lasting results. Basically, how long your extensions last has a lot to do with how they are washed, dried, moisturised and brushed.

  • Avoid swimming:  long periods of soaking in water, plus exposure to chlorine is not ideal for your extensions. If you must swim, we recommended you wear a protective cap. As soon as you get out of the water wash and dry your hair thoroughly.
  • Brush your hair regularly: Brushing your hair regularly will help avoid tangles, firmly take hold of your hair on one side and begin to brush gently from the ends. Holding it will ensure you’re not putting too much strain while detangling. Gradually work your way up to the root but be careful not to brush or comb to close to the loop to avoid pulling out.
  • Tie your hair while you sleep: Tie your hair or plait it loosely when your sleep or doing any kind of activities, this is to Provent them from getting tangled.

How to wash your extensions

Apply your salontwelve shampoo and gently massage your hair in a vertical motion to keep the stands aligned. Make sure you thoroughly rinse the shampoo. Then apply your salontwelve conditioner avoiding your roots. And your hair will stay protected and super soft throughout the day.
